Upcoming: Battery Passport 2024 pilots webinar

Following the successful launch of the 2024 battery passport pilots, this webinar will dive deeper into the results and learning. The webinar will be an opportunity to ask questions and exchange with the GBA Secretariat team on key take-aways.

Recent: The 2024 Annual General Meeting 

The AGM took place in China on November 5-7, with the main programme in Shanghai and a site visit to Ningde. 

The programme included sessions on the GBA 2024 status, milestones and outlook for 2025, the GBA Battery Passport, including perspectives from China, Critical Minerals and Circularity and GBA governance, including elections to the Board of Directors for designated GBA member representatives and more...

The programme included: 

  • Monday 4 November, 13:00 and 19:00 | Site visit to SK tes recycling facility and Welcome Reception.
  • Tuesday 5 November, 09:00-17:00 | full-day AGM programme (including dinner at 19:30). 
  • Wednesday 6 November, 09:00-13:00 | half-day AGM programme (including lunch) & participant departure to Ningde for opional site visit
  • Thursday 7 November: Visit to Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) Exhibition hall; testing and R&D center; Advanced production line in Ningde


 

Recent: Consultation on the Global Battery Alliance's Battery Passport Indigenous Peoples' rights rulebook 

The Global Battery Alliance (GBA) organised online consultations with Indigenous Peoples’ organizations worldwide on 23 and 24 October 2024 to gather input on the draft Respect for Indigenous Peoples’ Rights rulebook. Watch a recording of the consultations to learn more about the Battery Passport and the rulebook which aims to minimize adverse impacts and promote socio-economic opportunities for Indigenous communities throughout the battery value chain.

Providing and processing your feedback  

Alongside lessons from piloting the rulebook, the feedback collected via the recent consultation will be used to revise the GBA’s approach to the Battery Passport indicators and the final rulebook. The revised indicators will be shared with organisations who participated in this initial consultation via email and will be available for further review and comment via a public consultation period planned for Q1-Q2, 2025.
